Discover your courage! There are many things that cause us to feel afraid. Operations Manager, Marcy Mooney, discusses Geoffrey James’s article “4 Mental Tricks to Conquer Fear” and offers her own personal tip to help you overcome fears that you face.

Do you ever feel like the Cowardly Lion – believing that your fear makes you inadequate? How do you turn that fear around and promote yourself, your skills and make the changes in your life you have wanted to make? The Cowardly Lion learned that courage means acting in the face of fear and he had that skill all along. Geoffrey James’ article, “4 Mental Tricks to Conquer Fear” highlights what you need to know to change your future. At times, we are all ruled by fear and I have found a way that I find I am able to overcome those times. If I am feeling fear about a job or project, I take a minute to ask myself some questions. Why am I afraid? What is the worst that can happen? Will I be okay if I do not get what I was hoping for? Once I understand all realistic outcomes, my fear becomes smaller and smaller and I can continue.

A great book on the same subject matter is “Feel The Fear And Do It Anyway”, by Susan Jeffers.
