Job Details:

  • Reporting to the Manager of Hematology, this position is responsible for technical and administrative supervision of the Hematology Section of the department and its staff of 20+ employees.
  • In collaboration with the Manager, the Supervisor will assist in maintenance of CAP accreditation, maintenance of the analytical systems of the laboratory, monitoring the quality control program, inventory management, directing subordinate personnel, inventory management.

The department has grown significantly adding new surgeons who bring specialized care to the local communities. Three of the new initiatives include a new minimally invasive surgery program, hepatobiliary and pancreatic program, and multidisciplinary breast center. All of the general surgeons handle routine cases as well as more complex procedures. Whenever possible, minimally invasive techniques are used to reduce the discomfort and recovery time of surgery. The Perioperative Registered Nurse is responsible for coordination of all aspects of care for patients utilizing Perioperative Services to include Endoscopy.
