Manager of Transfusion Medicine ServicesNewly created positionLocation: New Hampshire Our client was named in 2019 as the #1 hospital in New Hampshire by U.S. News & World Report, and recognized for high performance in 13 clinical specialties and procedures.This healthcare system reaches throughout New Hampshire and Vermont, an area renowned for its four beautiful seasons, scenic mountains, lakes and seashore, vibrant villages and cities, and low cost of living.As this healthcare system continues to grow (they are about to acquire another healthcare system in the area), they are creating a regional, centralized Transfusion Medicine Services (TMS) department. The Manager of TMS is a new created position, and will oversee 4 direct reports and 40 indirect reports. Manages the Transfusion Medicine Services (TMS) including Blood Bank, Cell Therapy Center, Cell Labelling Lab, Blood Donor Program, and Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) staff within the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. Facilitates the integration and management of daily functions within assigned areas. Provides management support for the section supervisors in daily operations of assigned areas. Coordinates long term planning activities from the clinical and operational perspectives.Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. Registered MT/MLS/CLS with 8+ years of laboratory experience including 4+ years of experience in a supervisory or lead position. Master's degree preferred. Experience in at least one of the following: Blood Bank, Blood Donor, Cell Therapy and/or HLA. Familiarity with regulatory agencies affecting area of influence. ASCP certification required, SBB (ASCP) preferred.Other info: Large Academic Healthcare Facility in a rural environment. State-of-the-Art Lab, including a recent installation of a $2M automated chemistry line as well as an upcoming installation of a one-of-a-kind $1.5M automated microbiology line. The Lab is located on the 5th floor (as opposed to the basement), and has WINDOWS. Walking trails on campus. No sales tax and no income tax in New Hampshire.
