Oncology Pharmacy SupervisorLocation: Boston location for a large multispecialty, multi-location physician practiceOur client is very particular about finding the right candidate for this critical position within their organization. Please review the criteria below and let us know if you are interested in exploring this exciting opportunity.The Oncology Pharmacy Supervisor must have extensive knowledge of Oncology Pharmacy regulations including USP 797 and USP 800, and be an expert in Oncology/Infusion Pharmacy policies and procedures. Due to new regulations being implemented later this year and a current renovation of the oncology pharmacy space, the right candidate for this role must currently be working in a supervisor/manager/leadership role overseeing an Oncology/Infusion Pharmacy with thorough knowledge of maintaining and coordinating compliance with USP 797, USP 800, and MA Board of Pharmacy regulations pertaining to Oncology IV and sterile compounding.Responsibilities: Oversees, plans, directs and ensures Oncology Pharmacy operations are in accordance with my clients health policies and procedures, federal and state laws and regulations (including USP 797 and USP 800), and pharmacy professional standards. Responsible to oversee overall operation of the Oncology Pharmacy including hiring, coaching, and supervision of staff, regulatory compliance, developing, implementing, and ensuring team adherence to policies and procedures, budget preparation and performance, weekly scheduling, acquisition, inventory and disbursement of pharmaceuticals, along with all oncology pharmacy operations including workflow, environment, prescription processing, inventory management, financial profitability, payroll management, and security. Oversees and develops the daily activities of support personnel, maintains highest day to day pharmacy operations standards, and continuously monitors to ensure best practice behaviors within my clients health environment. Responsible for improving Oncology Pharmacy processes and business metrics that enhance patient care, improve capture, integrate technology and initiatives, and align operations. Works with a great sense of urgency, provides exemplary patient service, maximizes positive patient outcomes, promotes one team culture, leads and motivates team to adapt to changing needs, and demonstrates professionalism in all their interactions. Maintains quality control and documents safety reports needed to support effective and safe operations. Collaborates with pharmacy personnel, physicians, and other clinical department staff to deliver safe and optimal drug therapy. This position will report to the Pharmacy Chief with a dotted line to the Oncology Chief Clinician.Requirements: Must possess extensive knowledge and thorough understanding of current Oncology Pharmacy operations and regulations including USP 797 and USP 800. (No exceptions) Must have 3+ years' experience in a Supervisory/Leadership Oncology Infusion Pharmacy position within the past 3 years. (No exceptions) 5+ years' experience as a pharmacist in an Oncology Infusion Pharmacy including extensive knowledge in IV and complex sterile compounding. (No exceptions) Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy; Pharm D or Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy required. (No exceptions) Must currently be a Registered Pharmacist in the state of Massachusetts with an active pharmacist license without restrictions from the MA Board of Pharmacy. (No exceptions) Board Certified Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) preferred. Experience with Simplifi 797 preferred. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required.
