Sr. Director, Laboratory ServicesLocation: Wellesley, MAOur client is a large, multi-site, multi-specialty physician practice. Recruiting for this client has always been an easy â?'sell' for us. They are known not only for their quality of patient care, but also for their employee satisfaction scores. The grand majority of people that we have recruited for this organization over the years are still happily employed there. This position is open because the current Sr. Director, Laboratory Services (whom our firm recruited in 2008 for this client) is retiring soon. Under the direction of the Executive Director and the Department Medical Director, provides overall strategic direction and leadership to all lab services performed, which include a Central Clinical Laboratory, Pathology Services and site clinical labs at established practices. Directs and leads all laboratory services including oversight of strategic initiatives, integration, cost-effective service delivery, and patient safety. Oversees, develops and implements quality measurement and improvement programs for laboratory services. Directly or through management level staff is responsible for regulatory compliance, program implementation, and the purchase of capital equipment and supplies. On-going responsibility for quality, HR activities, financial/budgetary and regulatory performance for the laboratory services across all locations. Collaborates with multiple other departments to provide a high quality laboratory/pathology service for patients and clinicians.Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent education, training or experience). Master's Degree in Business Administration, Public Health or Health Care Administration or equivalent is required. Certified Medical Technologist (ASCP) or equivalent certification such as NCA. Will also meet the federal requirements of CLIA 88. 7+ year's professional experience, including 5+ years in the management of a large laboratory operation. Experience managing a large, comprehensive, multi-site, CAP accredited, ambulatory laboratory service is preferred. Must have demonstrated ability to provide leadership to a large and diverse team, as well as proven ability to function as a strong team leader.
